Open for Business
A former teaching colleague sent me an email yesterday morning. It read “I'm sure you don't need any assistance, but thought of you when I was reading this article on Huffington Post, and I thought you might be interested in reading it, too.”
The article was “How to Make the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies, According To 5 Expert Bakers.” There may have been a time in my life- not so long ago, if I’m being completely honest- that I would have looked at this email and rolled my eyes, thinking is Arnie tripping? I don’t need so-called experts to tell me how to make chocolate chip cookies! Mine are perfect!
But times have changed. Now, I am keenly aware of how many awesome different ways there are to do things, and how much cool and useful advice exists to tap into. It’s a generous stream and success relies on drawing from it. In fact, the aforementioned article gave me two ideas that I am definitely going to try out.
So, thanks, Arnie, and everyone, please, keep the tips and suggestions coming. I won’t be offended. I meant it when I said I am now really and truly open for business.
